Order value limits

Stop orders that are too small to ship profitably, or too large to trust. Pro plan.

How it works

The rule compares the cart subtotal against your minimum, maximum, or both. The subtotal is the product total before shipping and taxes.

• Below the minimum: checkout is blocked with your minimum message.
• Above the maximum: checkout is blocked with your maximum message.
• Leave either field empty to skip that side.

The {value} placeholder

Both messages support {value}, replaced with the limit at checkout:

Minimum order value is {value}. Please add more items.

becomes “Minimum order value is $50.00. Please add more items.” The amount is shown with a dollar sign. If your store sells in another currency, write the amount into the message yourself instead of using the placeholder, for example “Minimum order value is €50.”

Setup

1. Open Rules → Order Validation.
2. Turn on Order value limits, set the minimum and or maximum.
3. Adjust both messages.
4. Save, then test with a cart below the minimum.
