Getting started

1. Install the app

Install PS: Checkout Rules from the Shopify App Store. On first load the app registers itself with Shopify checkout automatically. You normally do not need to touch checkout settings.

If the app ever shows an “activate at checkout” banner instead, follow its link: Shopify admin → Settings → Checkout → Checkout rules → Add rule → PS: Checkout Rules → set it Active and save.

2. Enable your first rule

All rules are off after install. Nothing blocks until you switch a rule on and save.

1. Open Rules → Order Validation.
2. Turn on a rule, for example PO Box blocking.
3. Adjust the error message. This exact text is what the customer sees at checkout.
4. Save.

Quick start templates on the same page set up the common cases in one click: block PO Boxes, restrict countries, or set a minimum order value.

3. Test it yourself

Open your own storefront, add a product, and go to checkout. Enter PO Box 123 as the address line. Checkout should refuse to continue and show your message. Remove the PO Box text and the order proceeds normally.

Pause everything at once

The dashboard has an emergency control that pauses all checkout rules in one switch. Your configuration is kept, so switching back on restores exactly what you had. Use it during promotions or debugging rather than disabling rules one by one.
